A week of good news, lovely catch ups, Halloween-themed quizzes, drinks, driving up to Matlock, autumnal walks, and getting sick.

  • George’s operation went really well so I breathed a huge sigh of relief at the start of this week. He’s been doing well in recovery and is now home. One more minor operation to go.

  • On Wednesday I went for a couple of cocktails and a lovely catch up with Alice. It’s been too long.

  • Thursday was the Halloween Quiz at work which was a lot of fun despite it initially being planned just to use up the drinks left over from our summer party. Good range of questions and a fun time. Our team came second last which is a bit embarrassing.

  • Now we’re up in Matlock. We drove up Friday evening with Alison with the aim of spending the weekend with her, Tammy, and Marcus. The others did come but I started feeling sick which tempered the fun a little. By mid Saturday all I wanted was to be in bed.

  • We did manage a beautiful autumnal walk on Saturday morning before I felt really bad. Doing the same walks in different seasons is quite lovely.

  • So yeah now I’m properly sick. Writing this from the bed fueled by a Lemsip Max, I suspect I’ll have a nap after I hit publish.
