Week 312: Stargazy Pie

A week if creative D&D encounters, more boardgames, a new game for the lads, two days of rep training, ACAS guidance, failed Lime Bike Jousts, and a curry.

  • D&D was fun this week, I’m enjoying Luke’s creative encounters, we had to defuse some peanut-butter-smothered dynamite before some squirrels got to it. Weekly is quite nice tbh, something to look forward to on a Monday!

  • Charlotte and I played Finspan again, it’s a good game and it’s nice and quick. I like it when we have a little phase of sitting down to a game, it feels wholesome.

  • I invented a new game for the cats called Stargazy Pie. I have a cardboard box with multiple holes in it, I sit partially in the box and poke little toy fish up through it. The lads go mad for it and try to grab them out, it’s like whack-a-mole. The box is looking worse for wear and I’m tempted to build a more permanent wooden version.

  • I spent Thursday and Friday out of the office at Unite Rep training and it was great! Met a few reps from other businesses in my sector, learnt an awful lot, I feel more confident representing people now 👍 but also reaffirmed for me that just doing the reading gets you a lot of the way there. Gonna print off a bunch of ACAS guidance to encourage me.

  • On Saturday we tried to go watch a Lime Bike Joust, but we were one of several hundred people (and some police) who didn’t get the memo that it had moved. We waited in the park for half an hour then went to get curry on Brick Lane.

Several hundred people gathered in a ring around an empty park. Not a lime bike jouster in sight.
