A week of multiple D&D sessions, pen and paper, coffee with the family, surgeries, well-attended drinks, tech trash fires, lazy weekends, new games, and roast dinners.

  • I started the week off with D&D at Luke’s which was fun. The start of a new campaign where I get to be a player 🎉 a reasonable four hour session which we’ll be doing weekly, I’m excited for tomorrow!

  • On the subject of D&D I was really pleased with the session I ran on Wednesday for my FT group. A nice little combat, lots of new world lore, and a little cliff-hanger. Lovely stuff. I’m really enjoying making pen-and-paper battle maps at the moment.

  • On Tuesday I left work a little early on short notice because mum and George were nearby after a hospital appointment. Health wise we’re mostly out of the woods but he has one last scary surgery before the end of the month. I’ll relax properly after that.

  • Keran’s been in London and it’s been good fun seeing her. We went for well-attended drinks at the Market Porter on Thursday, a delight to see a bunch of people I haven’t in ages. Small comfort that everyone seems to be having a horrible time in tech at the moment. Stay put until the market is better, Rowan – better the devil you know.

  • We decided not to head to Matlock and had a lazy weekend. We went for a little walk, watched a lot of TV, finally played Finspan (which was good, a little simpler and quicker than Wingspan), and I cooked a great roast.
