  • Had a good week code-wise, got loads of useful stuff done and felt great about it. Despite a merge of teams I’m still mostly working on site reliability stuff, making it easier for non-engineers to resolve issues for customers. Good wholesome stuff really. Alex was back, lovely to see him obvs.

  • An etching of an unfortunate man being held in the stocks

Arjun and I popped to the local Wetherspoons and found that it has loads of secret little wood-paneled back rooms with comfy seats and wonderful artwork. Here’s a guy in the stocks that we admired for a while.

  • On Friday evening we drove up to Matlock in a very smooth 2.5 hours. The lads were well-behaved and seemed to enjoy the 90s rock.

  • We’ve done so many house jobs. I finally got around to weeding the garden, it was kinda therapeutic but let’s see how I feel when they keep coming back. We’re still putting off the big painting job unfortunately, it’s just a lot of wall. We have the week off so let’s see what we get done.

  • On Sunday we drove to a local car boot sale and bought some tat including a couple of decanters and some nice watercolours of birds for the gallery wall in Whitechapel. I sat outside with the lads, did a little bit of D&D prep, and we sampled the local Chinese takeaway. Delightful.
