Week 298: Roof Cat
We found a pub quiz in town, went, and came second. A nice Tuesday activity, we won a couple of mini bottles of wine. Charlotte smashed the music round, 20/20.
After a fairly hot week we decided to take half of Thursday and all of Friday off work to chill and do some house chores. We bought an outdoor table and chair set on Gumtree and had lunch outside a few times! What a delight. We also bought a disposable BBQ and cooked, gardens are lovely.
The lads were also allowed to explore the garden more and they love it. The only downside was Douglas Fir climbing onto the neighbour’s roof, getting stuck, and yowling for help. I had to rescue him with a ladder. It took ages because in his panic he kept trying to get away from me. Idiot.
Another job we’ve been putting off for ages is steam-cleaning the digusting grout in the kitchen and dining room. We did the dining room and it’s sparking so much joy! It’s really lovely to be able to walk through a room in your house without worrying about ruining your socks tbh.
Once we got into a rhythm it was fairly easy, one of us steaming, then the other scrubbing and wiping up excess water, then another steam. Still took ages though! We’ll do the kitchen next.
On Saturday, before heading off, we wandered up to the nearby church because they were having a summer fair. It was like a scene from Midsomer Murders, brass band and everything. The main aim was to find the local bellringers for Charlotte, we did. We also at some cake and played hook-a-duck. Very wholesome. We left before the murder, unfortunately.
