Week 297: Stanton Moor

A week of lots of plans, leaving drinks, sports days, old colleagues, long drives up north, sleeping a lot, and a lovely walk.

  • It was a busy social week and I’m very tired.

  • On Tuesday Rosa had some leaving drinks and there were too many shots.

  • On Wednesday we had our annual sports / rounders day at work and it was great fun. I participated in the tug of war and fell over several times. Lovely day out and the pub afterwards wasn’t too wild: the football was on which distracted everyone from drinking.

  • On Thursday, Jamie had leaving drinks. Again I didn’t go mad but three days in a row isn’t something that’s available to me any more. Saw some ex-FT people I missed!

  • On Friday evening we drove up to Matlock with the lads and I’ve been sleeping a lot since. An absolute nothing day on Saturday was what I needed.

  • We went for a lovely ~9 mile walk on Sunday from Rowsley up to Stanton Moor which is beautiful. I’m proud of us for getting a bus there and back instead of driving, the public transport is pretty good and we can get out to Bakewell on the same bus or Derby in the other direction.
