Week 284: Slay the Spire
Two four-day weeks in a row, bliss. Not actually hating work too much at the moment, my team is doing a great job at the mo and met an important money-saving deadline.
I’m back onto “playing games I bought ages ago and never played”. Finally picked up Slay the Spire, quickly realised Charlotte would like it too, and now we’re both playing it quite a lot. It’s really fun, scratches a few boardgame-like itches, and is entertaining to watch as well as play.
On Thursday we went for planned after work drinks instead of impromptu ones and it was lovely. The crawl was impromptu though and we tried a few good pubs along Fleet Street. Tried a Sam Smith’s bitter shandy on Dawn’s advice, delightful.
On Saturday we took a train down to Brighton, sorry to friends I didn’t tell – no time. We went to see Death on the Nile and then had food with Charlotte’s family (home made pizza, excellent).
On Sunday we got up early to head to Seaford and do the Seven Sisters walk again. It was far sunnier than expected and I burned my nose a bit. We went inland for the Birling Gap to Eastbourne leg and were rewarded with very tiny lambs.
I haven’t talked about it for a while but Charlotte might actually have a completion date for her house 😱 it’s very exciting, if you’re reading this then you’re probably invited to stay in Matlock once we get some furniture!
